"Empowering Conversations: Navigating Intentions and Tech Solutions"

Jan 28, 2024 - 8:42pmSummary: I had a beneficial conversation with John, who helped me work through my thoughts and appreciated his support in allowing me to talk things out. We discussed building a simple intention website that John sketched, considering the addition of GPS functionality due to its importance for intention-based actions, and the possibility of an AI assisting with small tasks based on one's intentions. Despite my aversion to login pages, John made me realize it's acceptable to ask for passwords on a website, and that a solution to eliminate logins can be addressed later. This talk has energized me for the week, and I'm excited about working on this intention website project, hopeful about committing to it longer term, and grateful for the sense of direction it provides.

Transcript: Just had an amazing conversation with John and wanted to get, um, at least some of the thoughts down. I have some things written. Um, but I mean, most of this is like, I just want to express like. Uh, how much I appreciate John basically. Um, um, just letting me talk and working through things with me and, um, getting in the zone and figuring things out. And, um, I'm just honestly beyond excited. I just danced for 10 minutes in my house. Um, yeah, the intention stuff is feeling really good. It feels good. My decision dreidel said yes. So that's a, that's a, a good sign, I guess. Um, yeah. And I think it's just pointing out like a few things to do for this week. Um, one is like building the intention website that we, that he sketched out. And I think, I think that hopefully will work pretty well and just keeping it really simple and seeing how it goes from there and not trying to make it too crazy. And yeah, just keeping it, keeping it easy, keeping it cool and calm. Um, probably adding a delete button to the website seems relevant. Um, yeah. And kind of just going over it. I think GPS, obviously, um, we both agree is important. I think with that comes some privacy stuff, but, um, I suspect that with intentionality, GPS is actually going to be remarkably important. Um, especially for enabling higher order things like, I mean, even something as simple as like, don't let me waste food in my fridge. Um, so yeah, I think there's probably going to be all of these like little kind of intentions that probably, um, an AI can immediately assist with assuming you have the intention. Um, and it seems like a much better way than leaving things super open ended. It at least is focused a little bit. Um, so, and he also helped me work through like, oh, you can just ask people for a password on a website, like it's okay. Um, it doesn't have to have no, um, you know, passwords or login. I fucking hate login pages basically. Um, so I've been trying to avoid them for everyone and eventually, like, I don't think there should be a login page, but that is a problem down the line to solve. That is not today. So yeah. Um, so, so many domains that we cross, we talked for two hours. Um, but yes, I just really wanted to just show so much appreciation. Um, cause I, I genuinely appreciate it. And I, it's gotten me energized for the week. Maybe that's where I'll leave it. It's like, I'm now stoked for the week where before I was like very unsure about where the week was going to start, but the intention stuff seems like it probably. It's some kind of loop that's not like totally in your face. And it also is something that I believe in and something that I'm doing for myself actively and I want to be better. And that is something that I believe will stay with me for my whole life. Um, and hopefully other people do too. So, and the people that I surround myself with generally seem like they have intentionality and I think we need more intentionality in the world. So I'm happy to try to work on this experiment and see how it goes and potentially even committing to it a bit longer term because it, I don't know. There's, there's something about it that just feels, um, really good. Um, but we will get there right now. The intention and the focus is to focus on this little tiny website. So thank you so much, Sean. Um, again, really appreciate it. Thank you for our call. This is going on Burrito, so, you know, probably read it at some point, maybe.

I had a profound two-hour call with Jordan at 9 a.m., discussing a range of topics including the exciting potential of language models, which he called "word calculators." Jordan and I agreed on the importance of solidifying a good intention to create a compelling demo that deeply explores the vision of our project. We also touched on self-expression and the value of using the platform as a "playground" to honestly express oneself without worrying about the audience. Lastly, we delved into the dynamic nature of intentions and how they evolve over time, along with the idea that AI could support individuals by acting as an executive function override during moments of weakness.

Today was eventful with a pleasant dinner party I hosted for Caroline, Patrick, and Kyle, reuniting this group for the first time in two years. The evening was filled with meaningful conversations, vulnerability, and appreciation for the company. I also visited Nick to help with their business spreadsheets, exploring potential additional income. Tomorrow's plans include a bike ride to Mnemonic to spend time writing and reflecting on recent discussions, fueled by energy and an espresso.
