Transcript: Holy shit, I just finished Get Out, and that movie is fucking wild. Dude, that fucked me up. I mean, it fucked me up in a variety of ways. Just got me to rethink about, like, life in some way. Like, phew. Just the sense of, like, waking up. Jeez. What does that even mean? We don't need to go there right now. Yeah, that ending was fantastic, too. It could've just been dark and horrible. It would've been so depressing. But, yeah, I don't know. That was great. I see why it's a big recommendation. I'm really glad I watched it. And it was also... One thing I learned from this experience of just watching a movie while I was cooking is I am fully capable of watching a movie while cooking. And it did reset me. And I'm so grateful to have had that reset. Like, that reset actually means a lot, you know? That reset actually did something for me. So I'm really happy about that. And I guess now I'm gonna go and just, like, do some easy code. That's it. And kind of just hope for the best. So, yeah, that's gonna be kind of what it is. And go from there.

After watching "The Boy and the Heron" with Chandler, the speaker was struck with a desire to see the movie again because they felt like they missed crucial elements, akin to the feeling they get from any Miyazaki film. They pondered the character of the uncle, who seemed to represent Miyazaki, putting the protagonist Mahito through various tests, with a recurring theme of the struggle to pass on his legacy against the backdrop of a crumbling world. Throughout the film, Mahito faces overwhelming odds such as being swarmed by animals, yet his resolve remains unbroken, which the speaker found to be a powerful portrayal of perseverance. The speaker identified with this strength of will and also noted themes like the futility of certain struggles, symbolized by the parakeets acting as NPCs, and intriguing details such as only the living being capable of taking life in the spirit realm, all of which contributed to their desire to revisit the film for deeper understanding.
Feeling exhausted but content, the speaker reflects on their constant work and aspirations to improve processes, like making John's burrito preparation faster. They acknowledge that their current project may have flaws, but see potential for it to be a dynamic back-end platform with multiple uses. The speaker expresses a desire to create something novel and valuable, while also fostering a space for both public and private sharing. Amidst these professional goals, they cherish personal connections, such as a satisfying morning of surfing with friends.

The individual had a pleasant evening watching Atlanta and using Vision Pro, followed by an extensive writing session. They reflected on the need to dedicate more time to writing and mentioned having leftovers for dinner. They noted their plans for meals the following day and the need to go grocery shopping, along with the decision on whether they will be going out of town for the weekend.
This morning started off late due to a restless night dreaming about the Vision Pro, but it turned out wonderfully. I played disc golf with my friend Ryan and managed to get some writing done, which felt awesome. Later, Keith joined us for more disc golf, and we also spent some time slacklining. I biked to and from the disc golf course, adding a pleasant touch to the day. For lunch, I tried a new place called Chris Ono Grinds and had their volcano chicken, which unfortunately didn't meet my expectations due to its excessive sweetness. Despite that, the day was filled with simple joys like spending quality time with friends without any drama or expectations, just enjoying each other's company. As for the rest of my plans, I'm contemplating a trip to Culp Valley but also recognize the need to focus on completing tasks and making food for myself. Though I want to balance leisure and productivity, I'm aiming for a more significant focus to achieve meaningful progress. In essence, today reinforced the importance of connecting with friends and finding balance in life's activities.

The speaker conveys their frustration with a difficult fundraising experience, describing a particularly unsatisfactory video call with a fund representative. The caller was in a bad mood, hadn't reviewed the provided materials, and hesitated to engage with the product's features. This led to a tense exchange where the speaker challenged the representative's commitment to valuing founders versus purely focusing on financial metrics. Feeling disillusioned, the speaker is left with a distaste for these disengaged "NPCs" and remains focused on their vision of fostering creative and engaging spaces.

I fulfilled my 2024 goal of deepening relationships tonight. I rode my bike looking for puddles to splash in after the rain, but found none. Instead, I had a rewarding conversation with Claire and Sam at Ichiban. This interaction was very satisfying.
