Transcript: Wow, what a day. Getting up at 5.30 this morning to get out and go climb in Joshua Tree. So I drove out to Joshua Tree, leaving my house at 6.30, getting out, meeting everyone at 9.30, and then actually going climbing shortly after that. And having, like, a solid day of climbing, doing, what, I think probably six pitches, seven pitches today? I'm not sure. But we climbed everything on Elf's Hat, and we also climbed the climb called Elf's Ass. And it was a bunch of, there was a 5.6 that we started off on. Then a 5.9 that we did next. And then we dropped a line on the 5.11. And then we did the 5.8, and then the Elf's Ass 5.9. So a bunch of climbs. Yeah, overall solid. Did the 5.11 with two different variations. One off to the right. One side on the arret and the other more up the face. And up the face was definitely a better line, I think, more aesthetic line. And more or less got to the same point each time before falling. Felt solid up to that point. So that was cool. And... Yeah. Just a nice day. It was Kendall, her partner Andrew. Claire was there in the morning. Catherine was there in the morning. And Brendan. And Sarah. And that's who I climbed with today. And then in the afternoon, after we got done climbing, Colin and Chelsea were there too. And it was really good getting to talk to them and get to know them a bit better. Which was really cool. And I really appreciate them for asking me questions. And also I feel like I got one of the biggest compliments of my life from them in some way. Which is, they see me doing all these things. At least Chelsea does. But... They didn't know I'm a tech person. And to me, that's great. Like... I don't know. I'm just stoked that, like, in some way, that's how I see it. I'm also stoked to be... Seen more fully that they see this one side of me, which is... Oh yeah, I climb and do these things. And also... Yeah, I have this other big passion. And I think they got to experience a bit of that. It's not... And that was so rewarding for me. Really, really happy about that. You know, getting to be seen in both capacities is one of the things that I really, really love. So, I'm really happy about that. And we basically had that conversation at Thai food today. And that was what we had for dinner. We went out, all got Thai food. And that was really nice to just talk to everyone. And, yeah, it was a good time. And... For breakfast, I just had some eggs and sweet potato hash again. For lunch, no food. And then dinner was this Thai food. Basically, I just snacked throughout the day with cliff bars to keep me satiated. But, yeah, this is a, you know, quick little voice journal of today. And pretty good day out in Joshua Tree, climbing with the friends.

I had an amazing day highlining today. Woke up early, and Jim encouraged me to go first on the line. Managed to take eight steps, which I'm pretty stoked about, though I always wish I could do more. It feels incredible to make progress and identify areas for improvement. One key takeaway is needing to stand straighter and address my tendency to fall to the left. Breakfast was a Starbucks sandwich and some oatmeal by my car, and lunch was just Clif Bars, with dinner still undecided. The highlight was getting on the freestyle line and achieving 10 steps despite the challenge. I haven't checked the videos yet but am looking forward to seeing them. It was also great to catch up with my friend Ray and appreciate Jim's support. There was a solid presence of friends, including Courtney, Kristen, Dane, Juan, Rudy, Jessa, and Daniel, whom I initially met in Joshua Tree. Overall, it was a fantastic day, filled with learning, progression, and good company.

A Day of Climbing, Coffee, and Contemplation

Today started off wonderfully, albeit a bit late due to daylight savings time. I was particularly excited about implementing Jordan's UI design into the project, going through a significant update to the entire user interface. The morning coffee, a special blend from Necessity in Encinitas that I tried for the first time, was exceptional with its distinct passion fruit notes. Following this delightful start, I went climbing with my friends Patrick and Kyle at Mission Gorge. We tackled several routes including "Empathy" on the main wall and "Skyline" among others, experiencing both challenges and successes throughout the day. It was a blend of leading and top roping various climbs, a fulfilling way to spend time with close ones. Post-climbing, I returned home to some household chores, including laundry, with plans to cook dinner and possibly program for a bit. However, relaxation seems more tempting as the evening progresses. It's 6:30 PM now, and the night might wind down with me enjoying a show or simply unwinding in anticipation of tomorrow. Although no activities are planned for the next day, considering the surf conditions, it might just turn into a surfing day if conditions at Swami's are favorable. A potential plan to surf with Chandler is also on the horizon, depending on how the morning tide looks.

"Reunited at the Climbing Gym: A Moderate Workout"

I reunited with Patrick at the climbing gym after a month apart, which provided a good opportunity to catch up and climb together. I enjoyed leading a few routes without pushing my limits, finding the moderate workout satisfying and noting the climb was not too challenging. I successfully tackled cracks and a route rated 11A or 11B, which reassured me of my climbing skills, contrasting with the less meaningful satisfaction I get from bouldering. Overall, the session was a moderate effort that was enjoyable, particularly because it allowed me to spend time with Patrick again.

After climbing with Kyle and Miriam and tackling the challenging STEMI 11, I experienced an intense workout for my hip flexors. In the morning, I updated Lava 1.6 and improved server support for it. I enjoyed leftover steak and potatoes for lunch. I'm undecided about dinner but plan to dine out.
