Comment: Day review
Transcript: Man, a really nice evening. Pascal and I just zoomed through hyperspace and possibilities. And I mean, we just sat and got, you know, speech to text API running. And that's cool. And that could be part of a larger suite of things for sure. But yeah, wow. And just like articulating vision and possibility and all of these things. Yeah, it feels good to be back in the real world. Vision Pro was kind of like a mindfuck being in there for, you know, six or seven or eight hours today. Definitely a portal. And yeah, pretty excited. So much possibility. I think the morning is going to be prioritizing things, probably, you know, doing a lot of things. I'm going to go to the climbing gym tomorrow. I'd like to get there around seven. So probably wake up at 630. I'd like to climb and then go and get some bins for my rice and whatever else. And then come home and basically get the day started. And probably work most of the day. Maybe relax in the evening. Yeah, it's going to be busy. And yeah, just going to get into things, I think. And I didn't have breakfast today. I did have coffee. I did have lunch. And my lunch was leftover. Apricot chicken. And my dinner tonight was leftover steak and salad. I need a meal planned tomorrow. So probably I'll do that after I go climb and that kind of stuff, too.

Today was genuinely good. I enjoyed a brief outing, had a catching-up call with Katie, and worked on getting an app ready for Darren, which I'm hopeful he'll find useful. It's sparked a desire in me to develop a more robust infrastructure, something I see as entirely feasible. Planning for tomorrow, I want to integrate a design from Jordan into my work and, if possible, continue enhancing the app for Darren, focusing on stronger infrastructure and deploying it to a stable, cost-effective, or free hosting service, potentially something like serverless Postgres. Dinner was light, just almonds and some couscous, not quite a meal. After a productive day, I'm feeling pretty exhausted and foresee just watching a YouTube video before bed. I'm looking forward to driving up for coffee tomorrow morning, though I need to check my car's charge for the trip to Encinitas and also plan to do some grocery shopping. I aim to start the day early, enjoy an espresso, buy some beans, perhaps a pastry, and then see where the day takes me. I'm debating between taking my laptop and opting to journal instead, leaning towards the latter to give myself a chance to reflect and process my thoughts. So, that's the roundup of today and the look-ahead for tomorrow.

Today started off wonderfully, albeit a bit late due to daylight savings time. I was particularly excited about implementing Jordan's UI design into the project, going through a significant update to the entire user interface. The morning coffee, a special blend from Necessity in Encinitas that I tried for the first time, was exceptional with its distinct passion fruit notes. Following this delightful start, I went climbing with my friends Patrick and Kyle at Mission Gorge. We tackled several routes including "Empathy" on the main wall and "Skyline" among others, experiencing both challenges and successes throughout the day. It was a blend of leading and top roping various climbs, a fulfilling way to spend time with close ones. Post-climbing, I returned home to some household chores, including laundry, with plans to cook dinner and possibly program for a bit. However, relaxation seems more tempting as the evening progresses. It's 6:30 PM now, and the night might wind down with me enjoying a show or simply unwinding in anticipation of tomorrow. Although no activities are planned for the next day, considering the surf conditions, it might just turn into a surfing day if conditions at Swami's are favorable. A potential plan to surf with Chandler is also on the horizon, depending on how the morning tide looks.
This morning started off late due to a restless night dreaming about the Vision Pro, but it turned out wonderfully. I played disc golf with my friend Ryan and managed to get some writing done, which felt awesome. Later, Keith joined us for more disc golf, and we also spent some time slacklining. I biked to and from the disc golf course, adding a pleasant touch to the day. For lunch, I tried a new place called Chris Ono Grinds and had their volcano chicken, which unfortunately didn't meet my expectations due to its excessive sweetness. Despite that, the day was filled with simple joys like spending quality time with friends without any drama or expectations, just enjoying each other's company. As for the rest of my plans, I'm contemplating a trip to Culp Valley but also recognize the need to focus on completing tasks and making food for myself. Though I want to balance leisure and productivity, I'm aiming for a more significant focus to achieve meaningful progress. In essence, today reinforced the importance of connecting with friends and finding balance in life's activities.
I had a really nice day focused on improving and optimizing our API, dealing with various issues along the way. I managed to create and deploy Docker images, enhancing the overall performance and deployability of our system, which I'm quite excited and satisfied with. Despite it taking more time than anticipated and pushing back other projects, I'm optimistic about continuing this work. Additionally, I spent quality time with friends, preparing and enjoying meals together, which was a warming end to the day. Although feeling slightly under the weather, I'm hopeful for tomorrow and plan an early start for a highlining adventure, pending how I feel in the morning.

After a hike, I encountered Steph, leading to ongoing communication about hosting events. We discussed her co-organized salon on the AI alignment problem in March and my interest in hosting a website-building event during startup week, potentially in April or May. We also contemplated a tool for managing our projects and events, like a specialized project management software. Further, we talked about the connection between online communities and the physical gatherings they can inspire, emphasizing the cyclical relationship between the two.

I fulfilled my 2024 goal of deepening relationships tonight. I rode my bike looking for puddles to splash in after the rain, but found none. Instead, I had a rewarding conversation with Claire and Sam at Ichiban. This interaction was very satisfying.

The speaker did not complete their weekly review, which usually provides clarity and insights for the upcoming week. Despite this, they have many projects, personal life commitments, and community efforts to attend to, not to mention taxes. They plan to set week intentions using voice instead of writing, including the exploration of websites for the Diagram Website Explorers Club and developing a Canvas element-based editor for Daily Jam. The technical aspects of this project involve real-time data updates, efficient pixel manipulation, and secure user authentication through tokenization. A function is set to run every five seconds to update the canvas with the latest pixel data, ensuring all viewers see a consistent image while minimizing performance impacts. Other tasks include preparing tax paperwork, organizing Boulder events for systems and AI, and sketching ideas for a project called "co-net." The intention is to spend more time outdoors in the nice weather and to schedule the next "Site Craft Hang," while thinking about potential content for the "Explorers Club" website. Overall, it's a productive Monday morning with good weather contributing to a positive start to the week.
