"Embracing the Morning Routine: A Reflection on Priorities and Ambitions"

Feb 9, 2024 - 8:15amSummary: I overslept by 20 minutes this morning due to feeling unwell, but waking up at 5:50 am rather than 5:30 am doesn't concern me too much. Despite not being on time, I appreciate how rising early shapes the start of my day. After waking, I had coffee and planned to make eggs soon to address my hunger. My thoughts are occupied with the challenges of getting a startup off the ground, acknowledging that it's a significant undertaking but ultimately a positive one.

Comment: Morning

Transcript: So, I did not wake up on time, but it hurts me a bit to say this, but I'm okay with it. And mainly the reason is, I guess my throat is not feeling very good, and I'm a bit worried about being sick, so the extra 20 minutes of sleep isn't super worrying to me. I did wake up at 5.50 instead of 5.30. 5.50 is still before 6, and yeah, while not on time, and I'd like to be on time, not bad. And getting up early definitely starts the morning in a different kind of light. So, that's, yeah, that's how we started the day. Had coffee, and now probably going to make some eggs here shortly, because I can feel myself getting hungry. So much thinking about, like, just startup and what it will take to get off the ground, what I need. Yeah, it's a lot. It's a lot, but it's good.

I had planned to wake up at 5:30 this morning but chose to sleep in until 6:30 because I needed more rest. It's now 7:15, and I'm starting my day. I went to bed too late last night and am not satisfied with getting only six hours of sleep; seven or seven and a half hours is more preferable. Now it's time to get rip in and begin the day's activities.

I did not get out of bed when my alarm went off at 6:30; instead, I opened my eyes at 6:38 without any valid excuse. I wonder if those extra eight minutes of lying in bed genuinely benefited me or improved my life. Despite questioning whether to get up or sleep more, seven and a half hours of sleep should have been reasonable. So, ultimately, I acknowledge that there are no excuses for not waking up on time.

Additionally, I aim to complete personal tasks such as doing laundry and meal planning. I'll work until around 1 p.m. before meeting Nick to discuss work related to a spreadsheet and the possibility of negotiating one or two months of free rent.

This experience has been a humbling reminder of the vulnerability to sickness. I'm starting to recover, and AI has been instrumental in allowing me to continue coding despite the illness.

The speaker did not complete their weekly review, which usually provides clarity and insights for the upcoming week. Despite this, they have many projects, personal life commitments, and community efforts to attend to, not to mention taxes. They plan to set week intentions using voice instead of writing, including the exploration of websites for the Diagram Website Explorers Club and developing a Canvas element-based editor for Daily Jam. The technical aspects of this project involve real-time data updates, efficient pixel manipulation, and secure user authentication through tokenization. A function is set to run every five seconds to update the canvas with the latest pixel data, ensuring all viewers see a consistent image while minimizing performance impacts. Other tasks include preparing tax paperwork, organizing Boulder events for systems and AI, and sketching ideas for a project called "co-net." The intention is to spend more time outdoors in the nice weather and to schedule the next "Site Craft Hang," while thinking about potential content for the "Explorers Club" website. Overall, it's a productive Monday morning with good weather contributing to a positive start to the week.
