intentions

one note about looking at all these intentions is that there are degrees of them. one’s that are immediately actionable, and others which are more fuzzy. need refinement. maybe I don’t even know where to begin on those. curious that. maybe this is part of the setup process with the intentions ‘app’. conversation -> action on the LLM part. it can build a plan and you sign off on it? have a conversation with me as well as it’s helping. it’s not all magic. dont try to make it be that either. i want a menu, but its a draft that i will co-create with the LLM. Will want to give it feedback to take into account for the future as well. I guess this is the conversational aspect of it

cook more

note: what’s interesting about this intention, is it doesn’t have to do with cooking more for me. it actually is entirely around food. it is the way i want to relate to food.

big (without AR)

why : I want to spend less money eating out, I also would like to spend less time driving to eat out. Often times eating out for me means “fast food” in some way. I would really like to be eating at nicer places when I do go out, and I would like that to be with friends. In addition I’d like to be exposed to new cuisines generally speaking, both when eating out and cooking at home. I also want to reduce food waste when I do cook. I often buy too much food, or just don’t know how to use it and some of it ends up going to waste.

how (i want/need help): I am not good at planning my meals for the week, or going out spontaneously to get ingredients for a meal. Taking into account my schedule, I want help making a menu for the week based on my food preferences. For determining my food preferences take into account places I go out to eat as well as things I tend to cook already. Please recommend cookbooks I could buy, or give to you which might suit my tastes. This could help plan the menu and keep the menu fresh and interesting. Ideally each meal in the menu will take between 30min-1hr to prepare. I’d like to review this menu with you, so let’s have a conversation about it. After the menu is finalized, please build me a grocery list and what stores would be best to get each item from. Keep track of when I visit the grocery store, so that you will know how old each item is. Also keep track of long term vs short term items (for example rice vs milk). I would like you to check in on me asking what I had for breakfast, lunch and dinner (how much does a gf help? hahahahah, perhaps even with gf this would be helpful, takes into account both of us). Also keep track of when I go out to eat. If a pattern of going out to eat develops, check in on me. I also would like to tell you if there are any ingredients left over after cooking each meal. Please remind me to tell you. I want you to know so that you can help me

small

why: I want to spend less money on food and less time driving to eat out. I also want to generally be eating healthier, which cooking may help. Often times eating out for me means eating “fast food” which I would like to generally avoid.

how (i want help): I want help making a menu for each week based on my food preferences which I’ve told you and what cookbook recipes I’ve given you. The menu will consist of just what meals/dishes need to be cooked. We will talk and agree on the final menu. After that please tell me what ingredients I need to buy. When it comes time to cook, I will ask for the recipe

what (to measure/look for/ask me about/i want to see): I want you to check in on me daily for what I am eating. I will let you know if I went out to eat and with whom, but if not specified, I will tell you what meal I had from the menu (or something different, if I made something different). At the end of the week (Sunday) I want a statistic telling me the number of meals I ate at home, compared to the number of meals I had in total.

I had a profound two-hour call with Jordan at 9 a.m., discussing a range of topics including the exciting potential of language models, which he called "word calculators." Jordan and I agreed on the importance of solidifying a good intention to create a compelling demo that deeply explores the vision of our project. We also touched on self-expression and the value of using the platform as a "playground" to honestly express oneself without worrying about the audience. Lastly, we delved into the dynamic nature of intentions and how they evolve over time, along with the idea that AI could support individuals by acting as an executive function override during moments of weakness.

The content appears to be a handwritten plan, possibly for a weekly menu and grocery shopping list, segmented into different cuisine categories and itemized ingredients. The menu items listed are a variety of meals, including one that is uncertain and is followed by a question mark. The shopping list is divided into two sections by cuisine: Asian and Mexican, each with ingredients that are likely intended for the preparation of the meals listed in the menu plan.

The photo shows a handwritten meal planning note. On the left side, a list of groceries is provided with specific quantities for items like steak, and general items such as asparagus, yellow onions, and several other vegetables. The right side is a corresponding list of dishes that are intended to be cooked, connecting to the grocery list through a series of lines that match ingredients to their respective recipes. Dishes include steak salad with fish sauce, turmeric black pepper chicken with asparagus, and others.

I had a beneficial conversation with John, who helped me work through my thoughts and appreciated his support in allowing me to talk things out. We discussed building a simple intention website that John sketched, considering the addition of GPS functionality due to its importance for intention-based actions, and the possibility of an AI assisting with small tasks based on one's intentions. Despite my aversion to login pages, John made me realize it's acceptable to ask for passwords on a website, and that a solution to eliminate logins can be addressed later. This talk has energized me for the week, and I'm excited about working on this intention website project, hopeful about committing to it longer term, and grateful for the sense of direction it provides.

The content appears to be a handwritten list, possibly a meal plan or a grocery list, with various food items and ingredients categorized under different meal headings. Some of the meals listed include pasta, sweet potato salad, and Aloo Gobi. Each meal category has a list of ingredients or components associated with it. The handwriting is mostly legible, written in pen on lined notebook paper, and there are some question marks indicating some indecision or options to be decided on.
